NEW CHANNELS & RE-SETTING YOUR SATELLITE RECEIVER
If new channels are added to the FOXTEL satellite service or if channels have been allocated new channel numbers they may not show up in your menu. To check accuracy of the channels menu it is a good idea to occasionally re-set your satellite receiver. Before commencing make sure the smartcard is correctly inserted in the satellite receiver.

Normal service will resume shortly with the new channel line-up loaded.

THE UEC RECEIVER is manufactured in South Africa http://www.uec.co.za/ and has been chosen by FOXTEL because all existing local stocks of the PACE DGT 400 have been installed. This receiver is a slight upgrade of the UEC 642 used for OPTUS AURORA services. This box is a great improvement on the PACE DGT 400, the LCD display is more attractive, there are a wide range of connections to suit the home theatre enthusiast. The remote is better and changing channels much faster. The installers pin number is 9949. Some - but not all UEC models can be re-tuned to receive the Optus AURORA services but they will still require an authorised Optus AURORA smartcard enabled by Optus to access any Optus AURORA TV and most radio channels

It is also worth noting it is not a good idea to remove the smartcard from the UEC receiver too often. Constant removing and re-inserting the smartcard may damage the smartcard. Multiple smartcard adapters are available in the UK to enable more than one smartcard to be inserted in a satellite receiver, the adapters cost approx. $130 Australian. However, I am not aware of any Australian satellite dealers who stock the multiple card adapters

PACE DGT 400 was originally imported into Australia by Australis Media (trading as Galaxy). They were manufactured initially in the UK http://www.pace.co.uk/ and later in Thailand under licence. It was the first generation of decoders for Australian Satellite Pay TV. The PACE DGT 400 was used by Galaxy, AUSTAR and ECTV until Galaxy was placed into liquidation. FOXTEL purchased a number of these boxes from the Australis liquidator, these have now all been installed and FOXTEL now install the UEC 660 receiver.

The PACE DGT 400 installers pin number is 4252. However, this receiver can NOT be used for other than what is authorised by FOXTEL via the smartcard, - there are no longer any free to air (FTA) digital television channels on any transponders on the Optus B3 satellite used by AUSTAR, FOXTEL or OPTUS VISION, other than TVSN. (TVSN is already FTA on the FOXTEL satellite service). The GALAXY PACE DGT 400 receiver software totally prevents access to Optus AURORA scrambled signals even with an enabled Optus AURORA smartcard. If a valid smartcard for FOXTEL or AUSTAR is not available the GALAXY PACE DGT 400 receiver can still access the AUSTAR/FOXTEL radio/music channels, as these are not scrambled at present. Unlike some satellite receivers, the removal and re-inserting of a smartcard in a Pace DGD 400 receiver will not damage the smartcard.

An AUSTAR enabled smartcard will work in both the above satellite receivers, but the AUSTAR smartcard may re-arrange the television channel line-up and will also add any unique AUSTAR channels not already part of a FOXTEL satellite service. Any unique FOXTEL channels will be scrambled. More detail information and frequency tuning details for the PACE dgt 400 receiver can be found at this site HERE
